Let’s Think in English is a research project of King’s College London, a university with charitable status having its registered office at Strand, London WC2R, and is affiliated to the Let’s Think Forum, charity number 1150648, registered office 53 Clitterhouse Road, London NW2 1DL.

The purpose of Let’s Think in English is to increase the effectiveness of the teaching of English in schools.

This website and its content are protected by copyright. The content of this website may be viewed, printed or downloaded for personal non-commercial use only. It is not to be modified, published or otherwise made available in whole or part without the prior written consent of Let’s Think in English.

Texts and images created by writers and artists other than Let’s Think in English researchers are used under the fair dealing provisions of Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988, section 29(1) and (1B). For this purpose, teachers who are engaged in ascertaining the educational effectiveness of Let’s Think in English materials are engaged in research for non-commercial purposes. For the further protection of copyright holders, schools engaged in the research are required to confirm in writing that they will not use Let’s Think in English materials available other than as permitted by section 29(1) and (1B).

Copyright holders of texts and images created by writers and artists other than Let’s Think in English researchers are acknowledged when these are known. In some cases it has not been possible to ascertain the identity of a copyright holder. In these cases we will be pleased to rectify the omission as soon as possible if contacted.

Privacy

1 How do we collect information?

We will obtain personal information from you when you enquire about our activities, register with us or otherwise provide us with personal information. We may also receive information about you from third parties, for example from a friend who wants us to tell you about the website or any aspect of Let’s Think in English.

2 What information do we collect?

The types of information collected may include name, name of school or college, email address, postal address and telephone number. We normally collect the school’s or college’s name, telephone number and postal address and the person’s email address at the school, but in some circumstances we may collect a person’s personal email address, telephone number and postal address.

Information about school pupils is collected only in aggregate or anonymised form. No personal or identifiable details of school pupils are collected.

3 How do we use this information?

We will use your personal information to provide you with the services, educational materials or information you have requested and for administration purposes. If you join one of the Networks, you agree to your name, school/college and professional email address being shared with other members of the Network. We do not share your information with other organisations.

5 How do we protect personal information?

We take appropriate measures to ensure that the information disclosed to us is kept secure, accurate and up to date and kept only for so long as is necessary for the purposes for which it is used. However, data transmission over the internet cannot be guaranteed as completely secure and you therefore use the website at your own risk.

6 Will we disclose the information we collect to outside parties?

As indicated at 3 above, we do not pass your information to other organisations. We may need to disclose your information if required to do so by law.

By providing us with your personal data, you consent to the collection and use of any information you provide in accordance with the above purposes and this privacy statement.

8 Right of access

You have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you (for which we may charge a small fee) and to have any inaccuracies in your information corrected.
